Good morning blog world! Can you believe it is the last week of September Move It? Every week you link up with us is a chance to win the goodies we announced last week. Here is how it works:
- every week you link up, your name is given a number. So far the numbers look like this (numbers start from week 1)
- then I’ll use a random number generator and tell it to select from numbers 1 through whatever we end on this week
- I’ll match up the number the generator picks to the name and that person is the winner! Easy peasy.
This is your LAST CHANCE to link up so be sure to do so! Your post doesn’t have to follow our format, just tell us how you moved it!
On to answering last week’s q’s
- Do you have a motivation buddy? Tell us about him/her!
Well we all know Kaara is one of my motivation buddies and that is why we started this challenge! Another one of my motivation buddies is my bestie Becky because she is always so encouraging and positive. Last would be my Crossfit coach because he yells at me to move when I stop.
- What’s a strength move you’re working on mastering? Or one you’d like to master?
When I started this challenge it was ” target=”_blank”>box jumps, but I’ve got those now Now it is pull ups and ring dips. I am assisted with rubber bands for those right now and eventually I’d like to be at the lightest rubber band or no rubber band.
- How do you make sure you work out? Do you get up early? Schedule a fitness date?
This has always been tough for me. I tried going to the gym with a buddy (my Dad actually) and that worked but we’re not good at yelling at each other so if one of us didn’t want to wake up, we didn’t. Then I tried finding home DVD’s I liked so that I could work out for free, and I still love that but it’s hard to motivate myself. Then I thought I’d try Crossfit because a community forms there and people expect you to be there. It took a few weeks for there to be regulars at my 6AM class, but now that there is there is definitely that community. Getting it done in the morning means I don’t negotiate my workout later in the day.
- Do you set prizes for yourself if you meet a fitness goal? What’s your next goal and prize?
Yes! I’ve talked a lot about wanting to lose 8lbs in September and if I do I will get new black pants. I really only want to get the pants if my 8lb lose also corresponds with going down a size.
- Ahhh fall is here. What is your favorite thing about fall?
The weather! I love this somewhat cool somewhat warm sunshiney weather!
So last week I didn’t do that great with moving, but I did wonderfully with eating! My Grandma went back into the hospital and when I’m upset my stomach is upset and I just couldn’t get myself out of bed. I went to CF Monday, but did nothing the rest of the week. Fortunately I didn’t really eat my feelings… until my Dad baked a cake and an icing recipe that has been his family forever. He made it for his Mom to see if she would eat it and it was by far his best icing yet. So I did eat quite a bit of that, but I’m okay with it. It was delicious. Then the weekend hit and I ate crap. On Saturday I went to a Brew Fest and even though I bought the non-drinking ticket, I was still given a cup to drink beer… um? Even though I really don’t drink beer because of the gluten, I thought why not? And I drank some beer. Not too much because I wasn’t even buzzed. And then I ate a sausage and pepper sandwich there. And on Sunday I ate all day. I was like a bottomless pit I have no idea what was up with me! Because of the crap eating all weekend, I was determined to prep myself right this week so I got to work making broccoli and ham egg muffins (I’ll post a recipe one day), tuna salad for tuna wraps, baggies of carrots, cucumbers, and celery, and prepped chicken in the crockpot for dinner tonight.
Are you curious about my weight loss goal? Last week I was 3 pounds away and had been at the same weight for a few days. Then one morning I magically jumped 2 pounds making me only 1 pound away from my goal. I thought it was a fluke, but I was the same weight the next day and then later that morning the doctor weighed me in at only .6lbs higher. Yesss! Not a fluke. Then this weekend hit (woops!) and I gained 1.7 pounds. But I’m not worried, I’ll make my goal.
How did you do this week?
